I told her to tell him that she loves <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0085210\/\">Bad Boys<\/a> (no, not the one with Martin Lawrence and Will Smith) &amp; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0083929\/\">Fast Times<\/a> and to give him props for his appearance on the&nbsp;&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0741691\/\">Fort Knoxville<\/a>&#8221;&nbsp;episode of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0382501\/\">Viva La Bam<\/a>. We won&#8217;t speak of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0277027\/\">I Am Sam<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0091934\/\">Shanghai Surprise<\/a>&nbsp;or the overacting in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0327056\/\">Mystic River<\/a>. Penn also had a small part in Malick&#8217;s last film, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0120863\/\">The Thin Red Line<\/a>, along with a ton of other well known actors.<\/p>\n<p>Matt Dentler, who just recently moved on from doing the programming for SXSW Flim.&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.indiewire.com\/mattdentler\/archives\/013480.html\">blogged last year<\/a> about an unexpected&nbsp;dinner with Malick that also included Richard Linklater and Francis Ford Coppola at Vespaio. Malick also produced the documentary about development and Barton Springs, <a href=\"http:\/\/theunforeseenfilm.com\/blog\/trailer\/\">The Unforeseen<\/a>, which is currently playing at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.originalalamo.com\/Show.aspx?id=5240\">Alamo South Lamar<\/a>&nbsp;(and <a href=\"http:\/\/austin.metblogs.com\/2008\/04\/19\/the-unforeseen-should-be-required-viewing-in-austin\/\">mentioned earlier this week<\/a> on this blog).<\/p>\n<p>Aloha, Mr. Hand.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Austinite Terrence Malick&#8217;s latest, Tree of Life, has been filming in&nbsp;here since February.
