{"id":1612,"date":"2007-03-07T18:02:30","date_gmt":"2007-03-07T23:02:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/austin.metblogs.com\/2007\/03\/07\/apple-store-and-dennis-kucinich\/"},"modified":"2007-03-07T18:02:30","modified_gmt":"2007-03-07T23:02:30","slug":"apple-store-and-dennis-kucinich","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thechunk.com\/blog\/archive\/apple-store-and-dennis-kucinich\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple Store and Dennis Kucinich"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just to show that we&#8217;re not all about <a href=\"http:\/\/2007.sxsw.com\">SXSW<\/a> over the next couple of weeks, there are two notable events this weekend in Austin unrelated to SXSW.<\/p>\n<p>First, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/retail\/thedomain\/week\/20070311.html\">second Apple store<\/a> will open at The Domain in north Austin on Friday at 10am. Dave Thorup trekked out there and <a href=\"http:\/\/cutterpillow.com\/news\/apple_stuff\/pictures_apple_store_the_domain\">took some photos yesterday<\/a> of the final preparations.<\/p>\n<p>Second, Dennis Kucinich will be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.burntorangereport.com\/showDiary.do?diaryId=3026\">in town on Saturday<\/a> to campaign for another presidential bid. Dennis doesn&#8217;t have much of a chance, but you&#8217;ve got to give him credit for being against the Iraq war from the beginning. He&#8217;ll be right downtown amongst all of the SXSWi geeks (including me), so you might have a hard time spotting him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/seattle.metblogs.com\/archives\/2007\/03\/free_cup_of_caf.phtml\">According to our Seattle Metblog<\/a>, Starbucks will be giving away free coffee on Thursday, March 15, a little help with that hangover from Wednesday night.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just to show that we&#8217;re not all about SXSW over the next couple of weeks, there are two notable events this weekend in Austin unrelated to SXSW.
