{"id":1189,"date":"2006-07-06T12:50:59","date_gmt":"2006-07-06T17:50:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/austin.metblogs.com\/2006\/07\/06\/more-good-news-for-the-bugman\/"},"modified":"2006-07-06T12:50:59","modified_gmt":"2006-07-06T17:50:59","slug":"more-good-news-for-the-bugman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thechunk.com\/blog\/archive\/more-good-news-for-the-bugman\/","title":{"rendered":"More Good News for The BugMan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"1020051delay1.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/austin.metblogs.com\/archives\/images\/2006\/07\/1020051delay1.jpg?resize=237%2C300\" width=\"237\" height=\"300\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"5\" hspace=\"5\" \/>This really affects our neighbors down in <a href=\"http:\/\/houston.metblogs.com\">Houston<\/a> more than it affects us, but since the ruling was handed down here in Austin and it brightened my morning, I thought I&#8217;d share.<\/p>\n<p>US District Judge Sam Sparks <a href=\"http:\/\/www.news8austin.com\/content\/top_stories\/default.asp?ArID=165938\">ruled today<\/a> that <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tom_DeLay\">Tom DeLay<\/a> must remain on the November ballot despite his resignation and claim that he couldn&#8217;t run since he no longer lived in Texas.  As always, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.offthekuff.com\/mt\/archives\/007582.html\">Kuff is all over it<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This ruling coupled with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2006\/06\/28\/AR2006062800660.html\">recent Supreme Court ruling<\/a> which found fault in one of the districts created by the redistricting mess that Delay masterminded, affecting the representation of many Austinites, I might add, means BugMan isn&#8217;t having a very good month.
