Like a lot of people, I don’t take much notice of someone like Kenny G. His stuff is just so bland and he’s such an easy target, it hardly seems worth bothering with him.
Well, apparently, he covered Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” and used at least the original vocal track in his version of it on a recent album. This caused Pat Metheny to notice him and not in a good way.
I’m not a big Pat Metheny fan either. I’m of the opinion that not much decent has come out of jazz since Bitches Brew, but it’s always funny to see one celebrity take another one down a notch. Not that it’ll bother Mr. G one bit.
