The good news is that we finished having the entire exterior of our house re-painted. The bad news is that I have to go withdraw the money to pay for it and hand it over today. Oh well, it’s just money, right?
I must say that the house looks kick ass. For those keeping score at home, the house is now Kelly Moore Lemongrass with a Seattle Red door. I highly recommend the crew that did the work for us. They kept within the estimate and did some extras that I wasn’t expecting. They not only did the house, but painted the railings on our front porch a lovely black to replace the worn -looking black that they had become. They unexpectedly painted the garage doors as well to match the new exterior color. I didn’t think of this, but it makes sense and looks great. Since we had contracted the paint crew through a carpenter we had gotten as part of our new roof, I also had the carpenter fix the threshold and exterior door to our backyard which we pretty much haven’t used since we moved in over 6 years ago. As part of the painting, I chopped down a tree of moderate size that had grown up too close to the house and the garbage people amazingly took it this morning.
Yep, it’s been a good week for house karma. Once we get a decent portion of this improvement paid off, the next step will be to replace the carpet in the downstairs living areas with hardwoods.
