Election night at Otto’s. Note to self: visit this bar the next time you’re in NYC.
Lynne “Indignant Mom” Cheney said this of John Kerry’s mention of her lesbian thirtysomething daughter in the third presidential debate, “This is not a good man. What a cheap and tawdry political trick.”
Well, apparently, it’s not ok to mention your already out adult daughter who worked as a gay and lesbian PR person for Coors and is also Director of Vice Presidential Operations for her father’s re-election campaign, but it is ok to dress your 7-year-old granddaughter up as the grim reaper and parade her around at a campaign appearance.
I was posting a comment on Stepan’s post about the new Eminem video and noticed that A Perfect Circle is making one song a day available from eMOTIVe until it’s released on Tuesday.
I’m guessing most have already seen Triumph’s trip to spin alley after one of the recent presidential debates, but I just watched it today. It’s as funny, if not funnier than when he visited the Bon Jovi concert or the Star Wars movie line.
A recent poll (registration required, use bugmenot.com) finds a reality gap among Bush supporters. This follows the NY Times magazine article that I blogged about earlier this week which talks about the Bush administration and their own reality. It’s nice that so many people can live in their own little realities while the rest of us have to deal with the consequences.
HST on GW. Testify.
Following up on this post, there’s another story in the LA Times. I also just got a response from the e-mail that I sent Lloyd Doggett yesterday about this. I guess he can’t actually do anything himself since he isn’t on the House Intelligence Committee. If you live in an area represented by one of the members, it’d be very good to nudge them with a call or an e-mail, especially if it’s Peter Hoekstra (MI) or Jane Harman (CA).
If I didn’t know better, I’d think that Congressman Doggett actually wrote the response himself.
Dear Tim:
Thank you for expressing your concerns regarding public access to the findings of inquiries relating to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, as well as for sharing the Los Angeles Times article with me. I appreciate your comments and, as a long-time supporter of government openness and accountability, certainly agree that the public has a right to know what evidence the Administration possesses regarding failures in intelligence related to the events on September 11, 2001.
Also, thank you for your kind words, which really made my day. I will continue my efforts to earn your support. As always, please keep me advised of any federal matters on which I may be of assistance.
Sincerely,
Lloyd
I found this via a comment on Pandagon.net. UT had a class on the Cuban Missile Crisis when I was an undergraduate. I really wanted to take it, but it didn’t work out.
This is appalling, but not surprising.
Let’s all hope “Trooper Carlson” gets what’s coming to him.
If this is true, it’s huge and it’d better be released before November 2nd. I’ve e-mailed my congressman and both senators about this already. This needs to get top billing from all of the major networks once it’s confirmed. We all need to demand the release of this report and we know that Porter Goss, the new CIA director and a partisan Republican, will be sympathetic to the Bush administration regardless of whatever he said in his confirmation hearings a few weeks ago.
