This post covers a lot of topics in one shot, although the title is a bit misleading (seems everyone’s bashing Legos these days). The focus isn’t on Legos at all really, but on society, power, education and and range of other topics.

This pretty much sums up the current state of the comics page in newspapers. I need to keep an eye on this strip. Time to check and see if comics are available via RSS feeds.

$80 or $250,000? Hmmm…should be a simple choice, no? Our healthcare system is so fucked.

The funny thing about this one is that I have the same nervous leg habit and was unwittingly doing it when I read the strip this morning.

Somebody needs to smack Bush, Cheney and Rice upside the head with this book. Hell, I’ll buy them copies if I knew they’d read them.

Olbermann calls Condi for the bullshit she was spewing on…wait for it…Fox News on Sunday.

Extend windows activation for Vista from 30 to 120 days. I wonder if this will work for Server 2003 as well? Good for testing purposes.

I’ve got one blown speaker and no way to connect my iPod Shuffle to my current car stereo. This one seems like a reasonable option. Some day…

One of two bluetooth headphones that’ll be released by Sony in the next few months. We’re evaluating bluetooth headsets at work. These might be an option.

Some interesting tidbits here and there, but mostly common sense. I like the advice about not sticking with the standard MS Word templates and doing something that catches the eye.

I tried replacing my Debian install with Ubuntu a while back, but the live CD had some problems with my ancient video settings and I got frustrated. Probably time to give it another shot.

David Brooks takes a swipe at Neal Pollack and Pollack responds on his blog.

Apparently, Dennis Perrin wanted to write a Bill Hicks biography before Cynthia True did hers. Too bad that didn’t work out. He should do one now anyway.

It’s funny how the media mentions Second Life so much when it sounds boring as hell. I’m not surprised that the only way to make it interesting is to drag in deviant sexual behaviors. I love the Internets.

If I ever manage to get a MacBook Pro….sigh

I really like this graphic for John McCain. If I ever hear him described as a “maverick” again, I’ll puke. What a tool.

In case I’m ever stupid enough to upgrade to Vista.

I’ll be curious to see how many of these are familiar.

Note to self: make sure nobody bans this book on principle.

This column is extremely long, even for a Simmons column. Do yourself a favor and print it out, then read it when you have 20 minutes to kill. And if you read it in the bathroom, ESPN.com is not responsible for any hemorrhoids that happened because you sa

The Boy mentioned one day after eating at IHOP that bacon smelled so good that they should make soap with that smell. He got his wish.

Alaska congressman Don Young misquoted Lincoln in the House debate over the non-binding resolution. Anyone paying any attention to this should read this Nevada Thunder post.

Twisty weighs in on the recent Wal-Mart / Plan B fracas. Wal-Mart sucks and pharmacists who don’t do their job suck, especially holier-than-thou pharmacists. This really makes me mad. I would’ve strangled the guy. Seriously.

Looks like I’m going to have to upgrade WordPress in a few days anyway b/c of hosting upgrades to PHP, so I might as well check out some new themes.

This one definitely needs some fact checking, but if even half of it is accurate, I don’t know how anyone over the age of 50 didn’t see all of this coming.

Awesome keynote by Sir Tim Berners Lee. It’d be a good primer for those who are unfamiliar with the history of the world wide web and why net neutrality and open platforms are important.

Bill Simmons just took me down memory lane. I remember this game and attended the All Star game the year before in Dallas. It was Jordan’s rookie year and he didn’t play because of an injury. I had to miss All Star Saturday because I had a basketball game
