Ball, dogs and spelling

I thought I’d throw out a few cool things to do this week.

Tomorrow night, there’s the Third Annual Chronicle-Fado Adult Spelling Bee benefitting the Austin Public Library. There’s also a screening of Small Ball, a documentary about a little league team from Aptos, California trying to reach the World Series in the summer of 2002. The filmmakers will be in attendance.

Sunday is Dogtoberfest at the Gingerman benefitting Blue Dog Rescue. They’ve had a benefit for the past several years, but this one promises to be the largest yet.
