I picked up Grand Theft Auto: Vice City today during lunch at Fry’s. I hope Henry doesn’t mind a 6:30 bedtime tonight. I’ll let you know what I think of it, assuming I can tear myself away.

Oh yeah, there’s a new Lily picture of the week as of last night.

The La’s officially two weeks old now. We didn’t get much sleep last night or the night before. She’s been very tempermental between 11pm and 2am for some reason. Looks like I’ll have to start going to bed when The Boy does if I want to be functional at work next week. I posted another new picture of the week for La. It’s from last weekend.

Fall is officially upon us. I don’t think we’re going to get out of the mid-60’s today. It’s still raining here. We’ve had at least some rain everyday since a few days after La’s birth. I’ve had enough rain now, thanks. There’s at least a 30% chance through the middle of next week as well.

I’m going to check out Jackass tonight at the Alamo Drafthouse with some of the guys. My father in-law is in town to see La, so the rest of the family will be at home watching DVDs. Not a bad deal for me.

As promised, there’s another new Lily picture of the week from the lot taken this weekend. I’ll add another one tomorrow. Mary’s mom leaves tomorrow and her dad won’t arrive until Thursday night, so we get a 36 hour taste of what it’ll be like to be on our own again. We’re definitely not going to be eating as well anymore.

I’ve added a growth chart link to both Henry and Lily’s pages. They’re just in tables now, but I’m going to try and find something that allows me to plot a growth chart on the fly. If you know of anything that works with PHP, let me know. I’m not sure if my ISP has the right libraries compiled into PHP to manipulate graphics. I may go the applet route.

I’ve posted a new picture of the week for Lily. It was taken with our new Fujifilm Finepix 3800 digital camera that we picked up at Best Buy on Friday. It takes much better photos than the Kodak DC220 that we bought before Henry was born. We took a lot of pictures over the weekend as Mary’s mom is still here and my parents came for a visit. I’ll probably post a new picture everyday for the next few days.

We’re slowly adapting to life with a newborn again. I forgot how draining it is to be woken out of a dead sleep several times a night. It’s not too bad now since I’m off work and can nap some during the day, but when I go back to work, I think it’s going to be tough. Lily’s temperament is definitely not the same as Henry’s at this age. She’s much quicker to get upset, but also quicker to calm down.

I had a classic clueless parent moment last night. She started fussing and got more and more worked up, probably the worst I’ve seen her so far. We started running through the options. Hungry? No. Gassy? No. Too hot/too cold? No. Dirty diaper? No. Then I noticed that her cord stub had disappeared. I started searching through her footed sleeper and found it in one of the feet. It’s dried up (thanks to goldenseal) and must have been poking her. Once I removed it, she looked at me like, “I was using my somethings-poking-me-and-I-don’t-like-it cry. Thank god you finally figured that out, dummy. ” Yep.

I just posted new pictures of the week for both kids.

Lily Yayeri Trentham arrived yesterday, October 11th at exactly 6:00pm. She weighed 8 lbs. and was 20 1/2″ long. She has a full head of hair, just like Henry did and, poor girl, she looks an awful lot like daddy. For those of you that are registered, if you’re logged-in, click on the Lily link and you’ll get her picture of the week. There are several other pictures in her archive. All of them are actually from today. I’ve also added a new Henry picture of the week, featuring one of the first photos of Henry with Lily. If you haven’t registered, send me an email and I’ll tell you how.

The La hasn’t decided to make an appearance yet. The Wife’s getting a little cranky, which is understandable. Meredith leaves today, so we’ll be back to a house of four. We went to see a movie last night. Meredith and The Wife went to “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” while Michele and I went to “Igby Goes Down.” Both received good reviews from those that attended. Igby was definitely more my speed than Greek Wedding. It’s very much in the vein of Catcher in the Rye. Kieran Culkin does a good job and there are some decent lines. The creepy russian guy from Happiness makes an amusing appearance as a performance artist. He still manages to be creepy.

The La has yet to arrive. The Wife’s friends from college, Meredith and Jen, have been here since Friday. They leave tomorrow. We’ve been getting phone calls daily from various friends and family to check on us. I managed to pick up some sort of stomach flu on Wednesday. I stayed home from work on Thursday and the first half of Friday. I’m pretty well over it now. Thankfully, it seems that I didn’t pass it on to anyone else in the house. I’ll post a brief note when we’re sure that labor has begun and then, of course, an announcement once The La has arrived.
